THE MARRIAGE LAWS (AMENDMENT) BILL, 2010
Few Important points of the said Bill which have been passed by Union cabinet on March 23rd ,2012 but yet to be pass the constitutional test of Judiciary :
(1)Making marriage laws more women- friendly Union cabinet have approved a bill seeking to give a woman share in her husband's property after divorce .
(2)The quantum of share shall be decided according to case to case depending on fact and circumstance
(3) Wife can oppose a husband's plea for divorce .The husband shall have no such right to oppse if wife plea for divorce on the same ground.
(4) Giving rights to adopted children on a par with biological off -spring in case the parents go for divorce .
