It's matter of pride and honor for each and every one belongs to legal fraternity as well as for Nation . Justice Dalveer Bhandari of the Supreme Court have been elected to the post of Judge of the International Court of Justice (ICJ) ;the elections were held in New York, United States.The ICJ commonly referred as the World Court is the principal judicial organ of the United Nations. It consists of 15 Judges for nine years tenure.It is based in the Peace Palace in The Hague, Netherlands.He will be the third Asian representative in the 15-member ICJ. As per Article 8 of the ICJ statute the General Assembly and the Security Council elect a judge for the ICJ.

Mr. Justice Dalveer Bhandari Born on 1st October, 1947.
After graduating in Humanities and Law on an international scholarship, he did Master of Laws from the Northwestern University, Chicago, USA. He also worked with the Northwestern Legal Assistance Clinic and appeared in Chicago Courts on behalf of the litigants of the said Clinic.He was elevated as a Judge of the Supreme Court on 28.10.2005.
